Congratulations go to Paul West & Nick for a great performance on the day. We had an unusual
situation in that Paul had tied himself with two different dogs. Bob Evans had recently undergone hip surgery and was unable to compete with his dog Nick. So Bob asked Paul to compete with
Nick and despite what little time they had to practice, Nick came out on top in the tie breaker. It was quite a surprise in the end that they tied. It was Paul’s day and it
showed by scoring well across the board with both dogs.
The weather gods smiled on us. With predictions of rain all weekend long for the
Dallas area, we actually had patches of blue skies, little wind and NO rain. Other notable performances came from 2nd place finishers Zain Nail & Kaia who had the
highest score of the day on the OC with 16 points. Zain & Kaia nudged out 2001 FDDO National Champions Chuck Middleton & Donnie by 1.5 points for their 2nd place finish.
In the Amateur division 1st place went to David Carver & Austin. 2nd place went to Katie Carver & Abbey who had the Am high score on the OC with
12.
A Small Dog award was justified with an inspiring and fun performance by Pam Martin and Spy.
I would like to thank all those who volunteered;
Mandy Hall, Alan Dwelle, Lisa Middleton, Kim Hasty, Mark Wood, Mike Miller, David Carver and Guy Mayberry for his help in organizing this event. You
all were fantastic!
