The last leg of our series was held in conjunction with the CYNOSPORT World Games presented by the USDAA. We have
been honored to represent the sport of disc dog with our challenging and unique event. The weather gods brought us the best conditions for Arizona in November and it was beautiful. I would like to thank
all the teams who came out to play in our event we appreciate your attendance and hope you had a fun experience.
Congratulations to JD Platt & Galaxy winning the Western Leg with solid scores on the Obstacle Course, Pyramid and
Freestyle keeping a 3 point win over Donna Malmlov & Smiling Sid who took second place. Way to go Donna with great scoring the The OC and a fabulous Speed Disc round. Rounding out the Pro Division in fine
fashion was Jeff Stanaway & Cory in third place.
The Amateur Division was quite a shootout. Coming out on top was Darrel Earle & Awesome Pup Bo. Darrle is a
top Am player and his consistent scoring in two of the events allowed him to hang on for the win. Lourdes Edlin & Cindy came in second place and had the highest score on the Obstacle Course for both
divisions. This was Lourdes first time competing in the FDDO, her disc skills and experience as a top disc dog competitor really showed through. Taking third was Mark Brisse & Cheyenne.

As an Ashley Whippet Hall of Fame Member, I was extremely proud and honored to connect the 11th Flying Disc
Dog Open National Pro/Am Championship Western Leg and the 31st Ashley Whippet Invitational World Championship together. The two major events intertwined at the same time over a three day period
brought the energy level to an unbelievable high. It was an emotional experience for me to connect once again with my mentor and teacher, Alex Stein, the founding Father of our sport. His
presence at this event, and support of our two events together let me know that after 10 years of successful evolution, The Flying Disc Dog Open has arrived.
